GoGreen Home March ’22 Newsletter for Home Contractors
March 2023
A contractor in Grass Valley asked:“How do I take advantage of the “30% Additional Related Home Improvements” loan option through GoGreen Home?”
GoGreen Home: Great question; we’re often asked how to properly allocate GoGreen Financing funds within projects. When a loan is funded through GoGreen Home, at least 70% of the funded amount must go toward eligible energy efficiency measures (EEEMs) and other legally and practically required components to complete the project. That leaves up to 30% of the loan for other uses. Find out what’s allowed and what isn’t.
TECH Clean California Launches HPWH Load Shifting Pilot
Earn a $50 bonus incentive per project with TECH’s Heat Pump Water Heater Load Shifting Pilot! Contractors enrolled in TECH may be eligible for a $50 bonus by initiating customers’ enrollment in a participating load shifting program—PG&E Watter Saver, SMUD PowerMinder, or OhmConnect (statewide)—at the time of HPWH installation. Enrolling in a load shifting program may help reduce your customers’ electricity bills by shifting their energy usage away from expensive, peak demand periods of the day to lower cost times. Put simply, customers’ water will be heated during non-peak hours of the day when clean energy is more accessible and affordable, and then stored for whenever they’re ready to use it.
As if the potential for energy savings wasn’t enough, customers may also earn a bonus for signing up! To learn more about this pilot and the load shifting programs available to your customers, please view the TECH HPHWH Load Shifting pilot page. If you would like to enroll as a TECH contractor and access additional courses, please visit the TECH Electrification Knowledge Hub.
