A contractor in Fairfield asked: “I’ve seen the terms ‘legal and practical’ used on the GoGreen Financing website. What do those mean relative to GoGreen Home? Does it have any impact on my projects?”
GoGreen Home: Great question, because, yes: The definition of “legal and practical” is crucial to understand, as it can affect how quickly your project is approved. Put simply, “legal and practical” is defined as the necessary steps that are involved in completing a project but are not specific to any one eligible energy efficiency measure (EEEM). Legal and practical does not include specific parts of the EEEMs, such as an air handler or evaporator coil. Rather, you might be legally and/or practically required to do additional work in order to execute the project as a whole. Some examples are obtaining permits, electrical panel upgrades and drywall repair.
