GoGreen Home Expanding in SMUD, LADWP
and Other Territories

Financing for
Heat Pumps and Electric Measures Now Available
to More Customers
GoGreen Home is expanding and
simplifying! Through a new partnership with
the TECH
Clean California Initiative (TECH), you are now
able to offer heat pumps and other electric-only
measures in Publicly Owned Utility (POU) territories, so
long as the property receives gas from an IOU
(SDG&E, PG&E or SoCalGas). For example, electric
measures in SMUD or LADWP territory will become eligible
for financing up to the program maximum of $50,000,
provided the property also receives gas from PG&E or
SoCalGas.
Old rule: Customers served by a
gas IOU and electric POU, like SMUD or LADWP, were
limited to financing no more than $15,000 worth of
electric measures (up to only 30% of their total loan
amount).
New Rule: As long as a customer has gas
service from PG&E, SoCalGas or SDG&E, there is
no limit to the value of electric measures they can
finance!
-
These customers can finance an entirely electric
project – 100% of the project, up to $50,000
-
Heat pumps for space and water heating, which
are critical to California’s decarbonization
efforts, are now available everywhere
-
Electrical panel upgrades can also be financed
to support the heat pump installations
You can begin planning and selling these
projects today!

Three EEEMs Added and Gas Convection Ovens
Removed
Three new measures have been added to the Eligible
Energy Efficiency Measures (EEEMs) list to
provide even more options for your customers to reduce
their energy consumption.
-
Heat Reflective Coatings
(BE-RADC) — Heat reflective paint
can reduce energy usage for cooling.
-
Window Coverings: Exterior
(BE-WCEX) — When attached to the
outside of the building structure, eligible
window coverings (solar screens, roller
shades/shutters, louvered shutters and awnings)
can effectively prevent solar heat gain during
hot weather.
-
Window Coverings: Interior
(BE-WCIN) — When installed in a
conditioned space to cover the entire window
aperture, eligible window coverings (cellular
shades, window quilts and Roman shades) provide
an insulating effect across all seasons and
reduce solar heat gain. Not eligible:
Louvered blinds, interior louvered shutters,
drapes/curtains, sheer shades, pleated
shades, interior solar screens, and interior
roller shades.
Does your business install these measures? If so, let
the Contractor Support Team know so that they can update
your profile on GoGreenFinancing.com’s “Find
a Contractor” tool.
Please note: We have removed Gas Convection
Ovens from the EEEMs list due to recent
reporting on these appliances’ potential to emit
substantial greenhouse gases.
