Ask the Experts: How Do We Move Customer Maintenance into the Spring?

March 21, 2024

Our shoulder season happens in the late winter and early spring, and we are fortunate to be pretty slammed from June to December. We find ourselves overbooked late summer and fall with the fall tune-ups, ESA and folks wanting to have new furnaces installed, all happening at the same time. While doing TU and ESA, the crew stops looking for opportunities for more work because we are already overbooked.

Any suggestions on how to overcome the objection of scheduling customers with heating-only systems to do their tune-ups and ESA in the spring rather than waiting till the fall? This would open us up to new customers who are calling for tune-ups and replacement furnaces. We’ve been turning them down due to limited manpower during that season, and that has to change.
